Health Psychology Associates was created by Dr. Ellyn Herb, Ph.D. to provide services to women and their families. Dr. Herb sees individuals and groups of women and girls in her private practice in San Jose, CA. She specializes in the treatment of disordered eating, body image disturbance, dieting disorders, and related issues.

Dr. Herb also offers consultation to therapists who are working with individuals who have eating disorders, food, body image, or weight issues. Consultation can be arranged by phone by calling 408-296-9600.
Dr. Ellyn Herb, Ph.D. has been working as a therapist since 1983. She graduated from Fielding Graduate University in 1986 and was an Associate Dean at John F. Kennedy University from 1990-1999 in the Graduate School of Professional Psychology. She designed and implemented the Eating Disorder certificate program at the Campbell campus, where she continues to teach graduate psychology courses and continuing education workshops.

Parent Support Groups Having a child with an eating disorder is challenging. Whether your child is under 18 or over, it's hard to know what will help and what might make the problem worse. The isolation that families experience is also difficult. Following the workshop, groups will be formed for parents/caregivers of individual with eating disorders. In a safe and supportive environment, parents will have the opportunity to gain support and sympathy from others, learn new information that will help children recover, and find new ways for self-care.
